Consultation Information

Estimated Appointments Fees from January 2024. Fees are subject to change without notice.

If you hold a current Centrelink Pension or Health Care Card, please advise our reception staff on arrival to receive a reduced fee.

All payments are to be made on the day of appointment via EFTPOS. Payment in cash is not possible.

Referrals

To be able to claim the above rebate you must have a valid referral with your current GP. We make every attempt to remind our patients of the need for a new referral before their next appointment but it is your responsibility to ensure your referral is valid.

If you are a new patient your referral will be passed on to the Cardiologist who will then let us know when they would like to see you. We will then either contact you by phone, email or post as to your appointment time.

Cancellation Policy

We require at least 24 hours notice of any cancellation. If you do not cancel or fail to attend your appointment as arranged, we may bill a $50 non-attendance fee which must be paid before the next appointment.

Patient Privacy

Gippsland Cardiology Service is committed to respecting the dignity of each patient. Guided by the value of respect, we will manage all personal information in accordance with Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988(Cth) and all relevant State legislation.

To support the provision of a high quality of care to each of our patients, we will often require the sourcing or providing of past reports and clinical information. To do this we require each patient to provide us with a signed consent to access (or release) medical records from (or to) any health service provider that requires the information for the purpose of treatment or audit of your current, past or any future conditions. This is on our new Patient Information Form and the prompt completion of this form allows for us to action your referral appropriately.
