Meet Dr. Jason Blooom

Structural and Interventional Cardiologist

Education: BMedSc MBBS (Hons) PhD FRACP

 

Dr Jason Bloom is a Clinician-Scientist who earned his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 2013, graduating with First Class Honors. He subsequently completed his cardiology training at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.

Jason has an interest in Critical Care Cardiology, including the management of Cardiogenic Shock and Cardiac Arrest. He was awarded a PhD in 2025, supported through funding from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the National Heart Foundation (NHF).

Jason undertook two additional years of advanced subspecialty training in Coronary and Structural Heart Interventions at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, United States. These fellowships were supervised by internationally recognized leaders in in coronary and structural heart disease. Additionally, Jason serves as Australia’s Young National Representative for the European Society of Cardiology’s Acute Cardiovascular Care Council.

Currently, Jason’s clinical and research focus includes Critical Care Cardiology and Structural Heart Disease, areas he has published and practiced extensively in. He also consults with patients for general cardiac issues.

He holds joint appointments as a staff specialist at The Alfred and Latrobe Regional Hospital, where he performs both coronary and structural heart interventions.
